For those who have basics in music and can Play By Ear, what next? Your next stage is probably Harmony and Improvisation on a structured basis if you can't do better than that. Listen to a basic decent song: ever noticed how the bass lines are made interesting? How did they do that? Then listen to the fullness of the song. How come the arranger and player knows how to enrich the songs while most of our playing are so thinny? What gives? Listen to the lush string background. What is the criteria to decide which note to use? Then there is the fills. They always come up with the perfect ones. How? And then listen to how the 'jazz' up the melody. Isn't it about time you learn how to do it? For that purpose, we at Play By Ear have a Harmony and Improvisation course. It covers all the things mentioned above so that next time, you can do the same or even better: 1. Bassing - the various bassing structures and how to manipulate it 2. Harmonics - how to add 2nd, 3rd, 4th voicings etc and how to use them 3. Counter-Melodies & Strings Background - How to create that rush of sound that overwhelms you. 4. Fills - How to fill up the spaces in between melodies. 5. Melody Faking -How to spice up your Melody This course is conducted on a tutorial basis in group of up to 3 pax. Fees is normally RM500 per person but as an introductory offer, it will be only RM300 per person per month for the 1st quarter of 2010. If you are interested, please indicate your interest by
