Alex Leow Yoon Mun and Maffrine Ang Lay Ting

Alex Leow Yoon Mun and Maffrine Ang Lay Ting celebrated their wedding on 21st March 1999 at Nikko Hotel with a 18 level wedding cake made by Chef Khor Meng Teong. The wedding was recorded into The Malaysian Book of Records as one with the Most Number of Pianist (65) performing for the wedding.

Alex Leow Yoon Mun

Born on 7th December 1959, he is the eldest of 6 siblings in the family of Leow Chow Shin. He was actively involved in Music, Debating, Interact and Photographic Societies during his secondary years and has won awards and prizes especially in Music Competitions.

Alex Yun Moon Leow

After completing his Form 6, he worked as a foundry apprentice for a relative in Singapore  for a short while before moving on to make a career with his first love - music.  He then started as a sales assistant in Yamaha Music Sdn. Bhd. in 1979.  Shortly later, he moved to a Yamaha Dealership, Symphonic Music and Art Sdn. Bhd. in Cheras.  In 1985 he left to join the Resort Timeshare and Insurance industry. In 1986, deciding that music is his real calling, he began teaching his own method of music which later evolved into the Play By Ear Method.

Arlene Leow Qian Mei

Married to Maffrine Ang Lay Ting, he has a daughter Arlene Leow Qian Mei born on 16th November 2000.

Play By Ear Resources is now the license holder for marketing and managing the Play By Ear Courses.  The Play By Ear Music Courses aims to help students to learn to play music by relying more on their sense of hearing and less on notation enabling them to be more creative and flexible. In doing so, he has helped many people to realize that learning music is fun, enjoyable and that it is not too late even though they may be elderly.                   

In 1996, he formed Music Talentech Services and began training Franchisee Teachers to spread his teaching method to cover a wider area. Today, his network covered the whole of West Malaysia.

For his effort, he was awarded a Master's Degree by Summit University of Louisiana, USA. He is also listed in the International Who's Who Historical Society. His clientele includes notaries like Dato' Seri Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, Datuk Elyas Omar, Tan Koon Swan, etc.

He aspires to export his method worldwide.
