This is one fantastic yearbook fully illustrated with lots and lots of photographs. In case you do not know, this event is held annually in Sarawak and nowadays is a fully sold out event every year. The variety of music played there is awesome and you should be there to witness it. After that, the next best thing is to own a copy of the book on the event. If you have not been there, you can whet your appetite with this book and then go there for the real thing.

Music is intrinsic to our lives. Can you imagine what a bleak world this would be if there were absolutely no music in it. I don’t think you have even thought about it that how much we have come to take music for granted in our lives. There would be no American Idols on TV to watch; no dancing; no singing. For all you Karaoke Kaki’s out there, that also means no Karaoke Sessions. All these would not be possible if there was no music.

That's a paradox, isn't it? Music (and other arts) can help a child develop his/her various intelligences; And putting too much focus on just doing well in academic school can depress a child further and also lessen the chances for the child to find out his/her other abilities. It also deprive him/her of the chance to develop skills necessary to do well in school. Furthermore, when it comes to job interviews, employers are looking for the child's participation in other activities beside academic achievements. How does one strike a balance?
